I am a Certified Group Aerobics Instructor since 2007 and also Teacher with Department of Defense Dependents School in Seoul, Korea.
I have always been an active person. My mom would drag me to her step aerobics classes when I was little and participated in many at home "Sweatin' to the Oldies" workout tapes. Also my background in Gymnastics and Cheerleading helped springboard me into Group Aerobics. in 2007, was actively taking Group Aerobics classes on a small military base in S. Korea. There were 2 instructors that were about to move away and the gym manager had no prospects of getting new instructors to take their place. I was approached to see if I wanted to get a certification and become the next instructor at the gym. Later that month, I quickly fount an AFAA Certification course, passed the exam and started teaching step aerobics the following week. I loved my first class and was easy for me to get in front of a crowd, as I had done in for many years as a gymnast and cheerleading. Since becoming an AFAA Certified group aerobics instructor in 2007, I have taught classes such as Indoor Cycling, Aerobic Kickboxing, Body Sculpting, Hip/Hop Aerobics and Step Aerobics.
In 2008 I took my first Zumba classes and fell in love it. I continued to go to classes and took my Zumba basic training course in 2009 and have not stopped instructing since. Just recently in 2016, I added to my certificates STRONG by Zumba. This new addition really focuses on HIIT format and gives a more intense but all around great workout to participants.
Below you can find the many other certificates I hold and classes that I have taught over the years.

Indoor Cycling (60 minute class)
An aerobic group fitness class, focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery, that involve using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. It is commonly called spinning.
Yoga (60 minute class)
I lead a Yoga practice using Aerobics and Fitness Association of America's traditional methods of teaching group exercise and its new "Sunrise Yoga Format". I focus on key elements such as tone, setting, meditation, and breath.
BodySculpt (60 minute class)
Body sculpting (or core conditioning) is a non-aerobic, muscle-toning class, usually focused on core strength. We use weight bars, exercise bands, stability balls, dumbbells, or a combination of these. We perform weight-training moves in a class setting.
BodySculpt gives you strength and muscle tone, but only if you lift heavy enough weights. I like to take the muscles just to the point of exhaustion
